Well... I have been watching my weight and diet for the past 3 weeks after a very stern warning from my Doctor (love you Richard lol), that my waist was now a 40 inch and my blood pressure was very high.
To look at me I am like a stick insect, however for the past year I have had a very sedentary life, working hard but not being very active. I think part of this comes from my view that I spent 22 years in the Army, exercising almost every day, and having to do it. So that when you leave you become very complacent and tend to rely on your memory of how fit you were 20 years ago and still see yourself that way.
I must admit watching TV and relaxing is very comfortable, also eating WHATEVER you like is absolutely decadent, until the dreaded time comes when you just cant get that button done up, or you have to squeeze your waist in like a corset into trousers that used to fit you easily, especially when I used to be a 28 inch for ever.... So now its watching the calories in and the calories out. As always I have become OCD around this, poor old Sonya has to put up with me going on about it and you would think i was a 300 pound guy instead of a knot in a piece of string 65kg.
But I am getting there, I am pleased to say that I have reduced by blood pressure to almost normal now, lost about 4 kg, (not a lot I know but it is to me) and do actually feel better. If anything it was the kick the arse that I needed.
So if anybody reading this feels disheartened, stick with it, it will all come good in the end.
